Colostrum

of cows

Mother Nature knows best. When a mother cow delivers her calf, the first milk expressed is called colostrum before her true milk begins.

The baby calf is given the colostrum from their mother’s first milk and only the surplus production is collected. This milky fuid contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and proteins (antibodies) that fight disease-causing agents such as bacteria, intestinal upsets and viruses.

Think of this as a nature’s immunity booster! We have included this special ingredient thanks to the simplicity and pureness of nature to benefit your dog’s immune system in each stage of your dog’s life. The colostrum we use comes from mother cows. After the calf is supplied with the first milk, the excess colostrum is milked and processed. It is not only degreased but also de-caseinated, which means that potentially allergenic caseins (milk protein) are removed.

Especially colostrum of cows contains many valuable qualities.

Unique features of colostrum:

  • The use of colostrum can lead to an improved immune system in adult dogs.

  • Minimizes the risk of diarrhoea reactions as it creates a stable and protected digestive tract.

  • Stabilizes and protects the digestive tract to minimize the risk of diarrhea and other unpleasant stomach problems.

  • The use of colostrum optimises the absorption of nutrients.

  • Colostrum reduces the risk of excess weight gain, which is considered a stress factor for the dog’s immune system.

  • Studies measured the amount of immunoglobulins in the intestine after ingestion of colostrum attesting a direct protective function in the digestive tract caused by the colostrum.
